I'm already participating in a sport or different extracurricular activity. Can I still join one of the choral ensembles?
Yes! In fact, many of our vocalists already participate in a sport or various extracurricular activity, both on and off campus. We build our choir calendar with the least amount of conflicts possible with other organizations.

I don't think I can sing and I can't read music. Is there still an place for me in choir?
Yes, regardless of your musical ability, everyone is welcome to join choir. Everyone in choir learns the basic fundamentals of singing and how to read music proficiently.

How long can I sing in the choir? Is it just for one year?
Participation in a choir class is at minimum a one year commitment. However, many students chose to participate multiple years as they improve and progress through the various levels of the choir program.

Do all choirs get to compete and travel?
All Aledo Choirs have an opportunity to travel and compete in local festivals. However, the more advanced ensembles will have even more opportunities to compete on the region levels as well as state and national levels in High School.

When can I join Choir?
Students may join Choir anytime throughout the year as long as it works with their schedule. However, for our more advanced choirs students are admitted by audition only.

Does joining the Choir count towards my graduation requirements?
Yes, one full year of participation will count towards your fine arts graduation requirement. If not pursuing the Arts and Humanities degree path, continued participation counts as required local credits for other pathways and always looks great for college applications!
